Shalfleet Church has been used for centuries for weddings, and is the perfect place to celebrate that special occasion. We would love to welcome you into the church and are able to help with some of the logistics on what is invariably quite a stressful and busy day. Whether it is sorting the flowers, advising on hymns and readings, setting up sound systems… not to mention arranging the reading of the banns and the payment of the church licence fees, we are here to help.

A list of the charges that you will face is given below:

Fixed Fees:
Reading of Banns £28
Certificate of Banns £13
Marriage service fees (£193 to Diocese, £231 to PCC) £424
Suggested donation to Church* £150
Optional extras:
Organist £50
Choir £50
Bell ringer £25
Hire of Village Hall (day rate) £120

* This covers the cost of ‘hiring’ the church – electricity, verger, candles, PA system, signage etc – and goes towards meeting the expenses of our church. Cheques should be made payable to Shalfleet PCC prior to the date of the wedding. If you would like to discuss a forthcoming wedding, or if there is any other advice you need, please contact the Churchwarden via our contact page and he will do what he can to help.
