As summer really puts its hat on – and it has been doing just that lately – there is a wonderful feeling of purpose around the village, as everyone bustles around, trying to make the most of the lovely weather before it all goes pear shaped again. The school prepares for the summer break, and the children were sent off with a lovely prayer on a post card, put together by Val.

Work has been ongoing in the churchyard, with the path leading up to the main south door cleared of weeds, and we are hoping to keep things looking neat and tidy while maintaining a good habitat for wild life.

We have also been beginning the task of remapping the graveyard, so we know where everyone is and where they might wish to end up! This involved hiring a drone, and then mapping the resulting image onto our plan of the churchyard. Without being too morbid, there is still room but book now to avoid disappointment!

We are also busy planning our next jollity in church, this time for Lammas Day on Sunday 6th August. And to leave you with a little taster, here is a quick pic to give you a clue.

More on this to follow!
