Thank you to all those who turned out into the evening air for the annual Fabric Committee, Vestry and PCC meetings on Friday. It was good to see some of those who work so hard to keep our church, its fabric and its churchyard, in such good order over the year and we are very grateful to them all. In the absence of our rector we managed to rattle through the various agendas – no reference here, David, to timekeeping in previous years! – and still get a few glasses of Pinot Grigio on board with some hot sausage rolls and some delicious cheesy twirly things brought by Chloe. We managed to re-elect most of the trusty few, but had to say our thank yous (though not our farewells) to John and Jan Whitney for their amazing service to the PCC over the years. Long service and good conduct medals are not in fashion anymore, and anyway, the good conduct and amazing service will continue, with Jan continuing to arrange the flowers so beautifully and look after the ever-changing altar hangings, and John singing in the choir and swinging on the bells (quite literally!) before services. But nonetheless, we thank them for their contributions to the PCC and look forward to bullying them back on at some stage in the future. Chloe Sutherland was elected to join the PCC, and we welcomed Rhod Powell in his new office of Treasurer to the Fabric Committee.

Minutes of the meeting will be available soon, and copies of the annual reports for both the Fabric Committee and the PCC are available on the website here.
