We were very sorry to hear of the death of Rev John Ryall, formerly Vicar of Shalfleet. John was Vicar from 1980-96 and was a very popular and caring member of our community. His funeral will take place in Shalfleet Church on Wednesday 31st January at 2.00 pm. All are most welcome, and there will be refreshments after the service in the Village Hall.
John moved into residential care in Somerset a few years ago, in order to be in the same home as his brother. He died peacefully on 8th January aged 87 and it is a great honour that he chose to return to Shalfleet to be buried here with his wife Doris.
