With only a few days to go until Rogation Sunday, the team are dashing about all over the place, rounding up chickens and tractors and rabbits. The first of our two vintage tractors arrived on my lawn this morning, and the second is being primed for action. We have a goat lined up to come (if she behaves), and some lovely hens – although one of these has started sitting on her eggs so we will be one down. Jojo is coming with a couple of rabbits in tow, so there should be something for everyone. I gate-crashed the Shanty Singers’ session in the Horse and Groom on Monday night, and hope to have secured the services of Michael and Ella with their guitars. Dan at the New Inn has sourced a supply of beer, Michael and Maureen are sorting cakes and coffee, and the now familiar sausage rolls will be out in force with some wine.
