Well, we were certainly very lucky with the weather over the Bank Holiday weekend, and the sun was shining on us for our annual Village Fete. The village was out in force once more, and from my vantage point at the top of the tower, it all seemed to be going splendidly, with a healthy queue forming a good half hour before the gates even opened.

The tours of the tower were popular as ever, with only a handful of cases of vertigo kicking in to keep the team at the top on their toes! Getting up and down the ladder to the top proved interesting to a few, but the introduction of walky-talkies to communicate with the team lower down certainly helped.

Our heart-felt thanks go out to Michael Beavis, Catherine Powell and all of their team for making this such a successful and enjoyable afternoon.
